After a MA in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, and having worked a couple of years as a secondary school teacher of English, I joined the English department of the MIE. Since then, I have taught on a range of programmes, as well as been involved in educational research, curriculum development, and administrative work. I have also contributed to a number of projects, one of which has led to a book publication – Continuity, Complexity, and Change: Teacher Education in Mauritius, edited by Prof M. Samuel and Dr H. Mariaye.
